L‐R: Linda Pettigrew, Mike Stoneham, Gill Fairham, Dimo Dearden, Janet & Martin Pordage
Now with three regulars out with either injures, flu and ski-ing, the team was complemented by new player Dimo Dearden and 70’s Captain, Mike Stoneman offering to help out ‘the youngsters’.
Despite a completely different team they all gave the opponents something to think about and it was not made easy for the strong opposition. Once more it was our ladies (this is getting irksome) that took the only two games in a final score-line of 7-2 to Kent. It was Janet Pordage, this time, that was involved in the two wins but Mike with Forest BC partner Gill Fairham, did take the third mixed to three ends but unfortunately losing in the third. A fair result and not a whitewash. I must also mention the unprecedented cornucopia of refreshments supplied by the home side and support for the two Master’s teams playing by both Kent’s Chairman and President.
